Special report: the US police force with the worst record for civilian deaths – BBC News

The death of George Floyd shocked the world and turned the spotlight on policing in the United States and beyond.

The 46-year-old African American was killed in the city of Minneapolis when a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on his neck for more than 9 minutes.

However there are police forces in America with a worse record for civilian deaths. St Louis County in Missouri has the highest level of deaths at the hands of the police in the United States.
