Lesbian couple challenge NHS over ‘gay tax’ fertility policy – BBC News

A lesbian couple are challenging a ”discriminatory” fertility policy by the UK’s National Health Service in court.

Influencers Megan and Whitney Bacon-Evans say they are required to undergo 12 rounds of costly private treatment before they can get NHS support.

However, the process for heterosexual couples is that they have to try to conceive naturally for two years before becoming eligible for NHS-funded treatment.

The Clinical Commissioning Group for the couple say its policies comply with guidance.
